Volunteer Project Sites 

 

Animal Welfare

Furkids Inc.Cats (8 Volunteers) - Light cleaning projects & playing with the cats. THIS PROJECT SITE IS FULL.

**Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary (40 Volunteers) - Volunteers will help with various projects around the animal sanctuary. Many are general landscaping projects such as cleaning up sticks and brush & trimming the branches on the horse trail. However, you may be doing other things like sorting the food donations for the animals. Special Time: 10:00am to 1:00pm  

SNAP2IT Animal Rescue: Atlanta- (10 Volunteers) - Light cleaning projects and playing with cats. THIS PROJECT SITE IS FULL. 

SNAP2IT Animal Rescue: East Point - (10 Volunteers) - Light cleaning projects and playing with cats. THIS PROJECT SITE IS FULL.

**SNAP2IT Headquarters and Kitty Reserve - (20 Volunteers) - Light landscaping, planting monkey grass, light cleaning, and playing with cats.Special Time 10:00am - 1:00pm  

Human Services

Action Ministries Hunger Relief Program (40 Volunteers) - Will work in the warehouse to build hunger relief food boxes. These boxes are then sent to food pantries and other service organizations across the state. THIS PROJECT SITE IS FULL.

Big Bethel Saturday School Academy (20 Volunteers) - Help the kids with Saturday School Activities such as reading and other homework. THIS PROJECT SITE IS FULL.

Books for Africa (25 Volunteers) - Will work in the warehouse to sort and pack books according to category and age level. THIS PROJECT SITE IS FULL. 

MedShare Shift 1 (20 Volunteers) - Help sort and organize medical supplies. You must be age 14 and older to participate, wear casual clothing and closed toe shoes. THIS PROJECT SITE IS FULL.

**MedShare Shift 2 (20 Volunteers) - Help sort and organize medical supplies. You must be age 14 and older to participate, wear casual clothing and closed toe shoes. Special Time 1:00pm - 4:00pm THIS PROJECT SITE IS FULL.

North Fulton Community Charities (20 Volunteers) - Helping sort and stock donations for the thrift store. THIS PROJECT SITE IS FULL. 



Outdoor Projects

***Habitat for Humanity (15 Volunteers) - Construction projects related to building a home. The exact build location will not be released until one week prior to the event. All sites are within a 10-15 minute drive from downtown on the south or west side of the city.  Special Time: 7:30am to 2:30pm. Lunch will be provided at the site. THIS PROJECT SITE IS FULL.

Clyde Shepard Nature Preserve (30 Volunteers) - Assist with trail maintenance, general clean-up and removal of invasive plant species. Children welcome if accompanied by a adult.

Decatur Community Garden at the Decatur Campus of Perimeter College (25 Volunteers) Volunteers will assist with general gardening tasks in addition to creating new garden paths throughout the garden.

Historic Oakland Cemetery (75 Volunteers) - Assist in the gardens doing a variety of chores including planting, watering, weeding and mulching. Vision and manual dexterity are required. THIS PROJECT SITE IS FULL.

Partners in Action for Healthy Living (PAHL) (75 Volunteers) - General gardening tasks such as building new raised garden beds and removing old ones, weeding & clearing garden plots, getting plots ready for spring planting, mulching, decorate fence boards for the honeybee area. Great project site for all fitness levels! 

Perimeter College Native Plant Botanical Garden at the Decatur Campus (15 Volunteers) - Volunteers will help tidy the garden area by cleaning plant beds, picking up along the trails, and digging up plants that need to be moved. Volunteers will also help with cleaning around the greenhouse area and potting plants. Each volunteer will be able to take home a fern from the garden! 

Piedmont Park (40 Volunteers) - General landscaping tasks such as spreading mulch, pulling weeds, watering trees & trail maintenance. THIS PROJECT SITE IS FULL. 

Trees Atlanta (30 Volunteers) - Will be planting new seeds or trees. Exact project site will be released closer to event date.

Projects hosted by Alumni Networks:

D.C. Alumni Network: Capital Area Food Bank (50 volunteers) -  Assist in the DC warehouse by sorting and packing food donations. 

Hospitality Alumni Network: Truly Living Well Center for Natural Urban Agriculture (30 Volunteers) - Prepare garden plots for early spring planting of vegetables as well as general housekeeping tasks.

**New York Tri-State Alumni Network: National Multiple Sclerosis Society Climb to the Top 2017  (20 volunteers) - Volunteers will assist with the setup of tables, chairs, materials and signage. You must be able to lift boxes, stand for long periods of time and climb numerous flights of stairs. No seated positions are available. All volunteers under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  Special Time 9:00am - 1:00pm. 

Savannah: Union Mission, Inc. (30 volunteers) - Volunteers will assist staff with warehouse cleaning. Tasks include sweeping, organizing, moving furniture, bagging and removing trash, and other duties as assigned. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old. Please wear closed toed shoes and dress comfortably - the warehouse is not temperate controlled.
